Welcome to SESDYN



Socio-Economic System Dynamics Research Group (SESDYN) is a research group that focuses on systemic problems having dynamic nature. The group is a part of Boğaziçi University Industrial Engineering Department. The main facility of the group is SESDYN Lab, located in the department.
SESDYN group is founded and directed by Prof. Yaman Barlas.

 

Announcement

Yaman Barlas is the 6th recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award
The System Dynamics Society occasionally recognizes people for making a significant contribution to a field or a practice over an extended period of time. This award is based on a body of work done over lifetime and and it is the sixth award given by the SD Society.

Ekin Karamalak and Elif Bayazıt, received honorable mention for Lupina Young Researchers Award.
Ekin Karamalak and Elif Bayazıt, with their paper titled "Modeling the Dynamics of Covid-19 and Alternative Policies in Turkey", received an honorable mention for Lupina Young Researchers Award at the "39th International Conference of the System Dynamics Society" held online at Chicago, USA, on 25-30 July, 2021.

Ekin Karamalak and Elif Bayazıt, with their project titled "Modeling the Dynamics of Covid-19 and Alternative Policies in Turkey", ranked in top three in the Student Project Competition at the "40. Operations Research and Industrial Engineering Conference" held online at Boğaziçi University on 5-7 July 2021.

Feyyaz Şentürk has won the Dana Meadows Award at the "38th International Conference of the System Dynamics Society" held online at Bergen, Norway, on 22-24 July, 2020 with his paper entitled "Modeling the Pharmacodynamics of rHuEPO, a Blood Doping Drug".

Sema Çömez has won the Lupina Young Researchers Award at the "38th International Conference of the System Dynamics Society" held online at Bergen, Norway, on 22-24 July, 2020 with her paper entitled "Modeling the Dynamics of Vicious Cycles Involved in Heart-Respiratory Failure".

Gizem Aktaş has won the Dana Meadows Award and Lupina Young Researchers Award
Gizem Aktaş has won the Dana Meadows Award and the Lupina Young Researchers Award at the "36th International Conference of the System Dynamics Society" held at Reykjavík, Iceland, on 6-10 August, 2018 with her paper entitled "Modeling the Biological Mechanisms that Determine the Dynamics of Stress Response of the Human Body". She has been the first person who has been given these two awards in the same year.
